Project: Shoreline Park Private Residences

DETAILS
Market: Multifamily
Location: 4950–80 N Marine Drive, Chicago, IL
Service Type: CapEx – Infrastructure Upgrade
Scope: Replacement of Main Water Riser Gate Valves
PROJECT OVERVIEW
At Shoreline Park Private Residences, maintaining critical building systems while minimizing disruption to residents is a top priority. When it came time to replace the main water riser gate valves, the project required precision, planning, and fast turnaround—all in a fully occupied high-rise setting.
tHE CHALLENGE
To perform the valve replacements, we needed to freeze multiple 4" risers—no small task given the scale and complexity of the building’s plumbing infrastructure. Each day, the water supply for the affected tiers had to be fully shut down for work to take place, with the system restored and fully operational by the end of each workday to avoid prolonged resident impact.
oUR APPROACH
We executed the work in carefully planned phases, coordinating closely with building management and residents to ensure clear communication and minimal inconvenience. Using pipe freezing technology, our team isolated each 4" riser without draining the entire system—allowing for safe and efficient valve replacement.
With strict timelines in place, we staffed each shift to guarantee that water service would be reinstated daily. Safety protocols, contingency planning, and high-precision execution ensured the system was brought back online without issue, day after day.
THE RESULT
The project was completed successfully with zero resident complaints and no unplanned downtime. Shoreline Park now benefits from reliable new riser gate valves, improved water control, and peace of mind—all delivered with minimal disruption to daily building operations.
